These include well-thought-out waste management, the use of renewable energies, the promotion of sustainable mobility and loving catering with regional and seasonal delicacies. Our environmental guidelines help us to consistently pursue these goals – so that your experience is not only beautiful, but also future-proof.
In June 2023, we invited for the first time to a climate-friendly concert with the artist Romano as part of the project Zukunftsmucke - Good Vibes from Mainz - where the resulting greenhouse gas emissions were recorded and analyzed. On May 25, 2024, the project continued: with a live performance by Ian Hooper (frontman of the Mighty Oaks), an inspiring Future Market and exciting panels, e.g. on topics such as sustainable wine ("Future Wines"), the organic beer "Knärzje" and the Cradle to Cradle initiative.
We use the knowledge gained from the project to make our events such as Summer in the City more sustainable and to inspire visitors to act in an environmentally friendly way. In addition to the opportunity to support social associations and choose environmentally conscious travel options, this year, for example, visitors had the chance to be actively part of an environmentally friendly concert series through measures such as dry toilets.

It is important to us that all our visitors and guests have a good time and can enjoy our events to the fullest. For this reason, we are setting up a barrier-free grandstand at Summer in the City, for example, where people with mobility impairments have an elevated and thus good view of the stage. In this way, we create a shared concert experience for everyone.
For many of our events, the use of public transport is already included in the ticket price. This not only allows you to travel comfortably and without having to search for a parking space, but at the same time makes a valuable contribution to climate protection - because the journey to and from the event causes most of the CO2 emissions associated with your event participation.
We have also taken care of all those who prefer to travel on two wheels: Free and easily accessible bicycle parking spaces are available at the Mainzer Weinmarkt, the Mainzer WeinUfer and Summer in the City. So the enjoyment begins as soon as you arrive!
